When punctum books was founded in Brooklyn, NY in 2011, we could only dream of the catalogue we feature today: nearly 300 books traversing numerous disciplines such as medieval studies, philosophy, architecture theory, theory-fiction, psychoanalysis, and queer studies – to name just a few.
The creation of such a collection of works, which often sprawl into novel territories, is by no means solely the work of punctum’s directors, past and present. Our titles are also heavily indebted to the members of our Editorial Advisory Board, who since 2011 provided both the symbolic and practical support behind the project of punctum books. We therefore owe an enormous debt of gratitude to Jane Bennett, Kathleen Biddick, Nandita Biswas Mellamphy, Paul Bowman, Jen Boyle, Jeffrey J. Cohen, Paul J. Ennis, Ruth Evans, L.O. Aranye Fradenburg, David Hadbawnik, Jonathan Gil Harris, Geraldine Heng, Ed Keller, Anna Kłosowska, Katerina Kolozova, Dan Mellamphy, Timothy Morton, Reza Negarestani, Michael O’Rourke, Simon O’Sullivan, Steven Shaviro, Michael Snediker, Karl Steel, Eugene Thacker, Scott Wilson, Valerie Vogrin, and Julian Yates.
At the same time, we recognize that in recent years our catalogue has grown much more diverse both in terms of the backgrounds and identities of our authors and collaborators, and in terms of subject matter. Therefore, in 2019 we have started to conceptualize a new Editorial Advisory Board to shepherd punctum books into the new decade. As a result, we are proud to announce our renewed Editorial Advisory Board, comprising of a few familiar faces and many new ones:
